The DharmaRealm podcast is a series of conversations between Rev. Harry Gyokyo Bridge and Scott A. Mitchell. Episodes are released the first and third Fridays of the month (or as often as we can!), and cover topics about Buddhism, Jodo Shinshu, and Buddhist life in America.

Rev. Harry Gyokyo Bridge spent various parts of his youth in both Tokyo and the Boston area. He encountered Buddhism while in college, and although he had dreams of becoming a professional musician, he instead found his way into the Buddhist ministry. He received Masters Degrees from both the Institute of Buddhist Studies in Berkeley, CA and Ryukoku University in Kyoto, Japan. Rev. Bridge served as the resident minister of the Buddhist Church of Lodi for two and a half years, and was assigned to the Buddhist Church of Oakland in January of 2009.

Scott Mitchell first became interested in Buddhism while living on California’s Northwest Pacific Coast. In the early 1990s, he studied philosophy and religion at San Francisco State University. Since completing his doctorate in 2008, he has been a faculty member at the Institute of Buddhist Studies at the Graduate Theological Union.

The DharmaRealm is produced entirely by Rev. Bridge and Scott. Though we are employed by the Buddhist Churches of America and the Institute of Buddhist Studies, respectively, this site is not supported by those communities. The views and opinions expressed herein do not necessarily represent the views of others. Thanks!
